About Us
The National Outstanding Young Farmers of America (NOYF) became a national program of the United States Junior Chamber of Commerce (Jaycees) in 1954. For 57 years, the Jaycees celebrated farmers and enhanced urban-rural agricultural relationships, until the Outstanding Farmers of America (OFA) took over the programs administration in 2011. Comprised of past candidates and finalists from the National Outstanding Young Farmers of America award, the OFA with support from the National Association of County Agricultural Agents (NACAA) and the National Association of Conservation Districts (NACD) work to be a vibrant network of farmers who exchange ideas and foster agricultural relationships.
Today, more than 1,000 members across the nation utilize their connections with each other in a strong networking format to assist farmers and promote the importance of America’s farming community.
National Outstanding Young Farmers Award
Annually, the OFA accepts nominations from across the nation for the National Outstanding Young Farmer of America Award. Ten finalists are selected and honored at the annual OFA Convention held every February in a different region of the United States. Four winners are selected, and all finalists and winners are inducted as members into the Outstanding Farmers of America.
